What to wear for my baby shower,or what did you wear? - baby congradulations wording

OK, so this is my first baby, and of course, the first baby shower, and I asked myself, what, where? I have a maternity dress thats cute beginning, but then perhaps black trousers with a nice shirt Nice comment on (I'm not comfortable dress shoes, but can not afford the right) is pleasant enough, but my dress? In general, no clothes, or as may be uncomfortable to bear lil, but what do you think? Can I wear jeans and a cute shirt?
